Was not sure where to post this so mods feel free to move if needed.

2 questions:

1) Anywhere do a good Sunday roast? Rockys used to but no longer

2) Where is the best steak in town? I like mine blue with a red wine sauce, baked potato and side salad

I had a steak tonight at Santa Fe Steak House in the new mall.  It's on the 4th floor not too far from Sizzler.  Now that I have had a steak at both Santa Fe and the Sizzler, I'll compare the 2 places for you.

Santa Fe had the option of a T-bone steak from Thailand (250 baht) or a T-bone steak from New Zealand (500 baht).  I didn't even bother to consider the Thai meat and ordered a medium rare NZ T-bone.  The steak was fine and obviously was imported, however, it was different than a steak from Sizzler in that it was a much thinner cut and I'm sure weighed less.

The same steak at Sizzler costs 2-300 baht more, but It's bigger.  The reason why I will eat steak at the Sizzler in the future and not Santa FE is because of what comes with the steak.  At Santa Fe, you get a meager salad on the plate with some odd, egg-shaped potato things.  At the sizzler, there is a great salad bar which includes your choice of dressings, soups, fruit, dessert etc., all included in the cost of the steak.

I have no idea what you mean when you say you prefer your steak "blue", but Sizzler does carry a red wine.

Another option is to make a steak the way you like it at home.  The new Tops Market at Central Plaza carries imported beef.  Probably Makro, Big C or Tesco do as well, though I can't personally verify that.  It would not surprise me if the Pullman hotel offers a decent steak and/or a Sunday roast.  Happy hunting!

You could always try Didines. The owner/chef is French and he will know how to present a blue steak. If you like it blue suggest you have a word with him before/as you order. I was there the other week and ordered medium/rare, it came up 'French' m/r, but very tasty.
